Tackling Child Sexual Abuse is a priority concern for Brighton & Hove LSCB, and through out this year we will be offering a series of training sessions following on from our CSA Conference last year.

This full day event will help you identify children who may be victims of sexual abuse, and consider how to respond appropriately, including liaising with the children’s SARC for CSA medicals, and working alongside police investigations. It will also raise your awareness of the services that are in place to support the child or young person.

This session is suitable for anyone that works with children and young people or their families, parents and carers

Learning Outcomes:

  • To raise an awareness of the signs and symptoms of child sexual abuse.
  • To consider the procedure for CSA medical at the paediatric SARC (Sexual Assault Referral Centre)
  • To understand what support services are in place to assist the child or young person.
  • To gain understanding of what processes are in place to report and investigate CSA.
  • To think about who maybe the abusers.
  • To consider how safeguarding and investigation work together.
