Type: | Seminar |

Duration: | 3 hours |
Why is the LSCB providing this course?
This three hour briefing is provided by the Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) to share the findings from a Serious Case Review carried out in Brighton & Hove. A Serious Case Review should be carried out for every case where abuse or neglect is known or suspected and either a child dies; or a child is seriously harmed and there are concerns about how organisations or professionals worked together to safeguard the child.
It is important if Brighton & Hove is to become a safer place for children to live for everyone to embrace the learning from reviews and take the necessary steps to help put right the issues identified. This briefing session will share the learning and key messages from the Siblings W&X SCR published in July 2017, and provide practitioners across the partnership with an opportunity to consider the findings about the effectiveness of local practice.
This event is part of the Safeguarding Sussex Week.
Learning Outcomes:
-
- To inform partner agencies of the key learning points made by the review team
- To allow agencies to review their own particular practice
- To consider how agencies can implement any changes of practice
