LSCB – Abusive Head Trauma – ( Crying & Shaken Babies)

This 2 hour session led by the Designated Doctor for Safeguarding Children, will raise awareness of the risks of injuries inflicted by shaking babies and the trauma it can cause. Workers will learn about the pattern of injuries including head trauma, the reasons babies cry, how to support parents in managing this.

Give thought to the patterns of injuries, including head trauma.

How to find ways to manage crying

Consider the potential outcome for abusive head trauma

Target Audience

All safeguarding professionals, in particular those professionals working with parents who are pregnant and/or families who have a baby under 2 years old
