LSCB- Practical Tools for Trauma Informed Working

Location:Brighton
Type:Training Event
Dates:
Duration:Half Day

Embodiment of trauma – supporting Children and Young People

Chrissy Bulling and Toby Chown from Oasis Project are facilitating a 3 hour workshop as part of the LSCB safeguarding week to explore creative ways to engage young people who have experienced trauma.

Upsetting, anxiety provoking and traumatic experiences affect our emotional and physical wellbeing and we hold emotions not only in our minds but also in our bodies.
Professionals often need to speak to children and young people about upsetting events, their wellbeing and life more generally. Verbally expressing what is going or what is happening can be difficult for any of us at the best of times but potentially even more difficult for children and young people, who may not have the language and feel shame or are in the midst of distress.

Target Audience

All safeguarding professionals working with children, young people and their families.
